We are a youth-driven coalition working on health issues which matter most to youth in Fort Collins. Youth Action for Health (YAH) is part of Communities that Care (CTC) which focuses on risk and protective factors in an effort to stop health problems before they affect youth. YAH, as a branch under CTC, has a part in stopping the formation of those problems. We are currently working on mental health and substance use. To combat these issues, we are focusing on building community support and advocating for a youth center in Fort Collins. This will be a safe space where youth can find homework help, get counseling, find medical services, and connect with peers in their community.
Prior to the pandemic, YAH met every other Tuesday from 6:30-8pm at the Foundry (Timberline Church). In light of new safety restrictions, our group has transitioned to an online platform, our meetings are now conducted on ZOOM until further notice. At these meetings, we will discuss upcoming events, current projects, the youth center, and any other items that meeting might concern. All attendees also recieve a $10 Amazon gift card every meeting, as a thank you. For your time Members can also earn service hours during our meetings. For meeting times, make sure to check out our calendar. To join the meeting use the last link below.
